A few nights ago, we received two tickets from one of our partners, US Family Guide, to check out Cirque du Soleil’s LUZIA show at Dodger Stadium. Both my mom and I had never been to a Cirque du Soleil show, so we were extra excited for this!
LUZIA takes you to an imaginary Mexico, like in a waking dream, where light (“luz” in Spanish) quenches the spirit and rain (“lluvia”) soothes the soul.
The cast of LUZIA is packed with incredible talent, from beautiful singing, to impressive acrobatics, juggling, jumping, balancing, contortioning, and more.
The live music pulses through the entire arena, adding to the excitement of the show, and keeping the audience members on the edge of their seat as the cast performs unbelievable stunts.
With a surrealistic series of grand visual surprises and breathtaking acrobatic performances, LUZIA cleverly brings to the stage multiple places, faces and sounds of Mexico taken from both tradition and modernity.
We laughed, we gasped, we cheered, and we even cringed a little bit. Because contortionists make me a little cringey.
My mom and I had a fantastic evening enjoying this breathtaking tribute to Mexico! The arena is large, but once inside it had such an intimate feeling. Even the upper levels of seating felt like they were close to the stage.
You can enjoy this production with the whole family and save 20% on tickets by choosing the “family pack” option on the Cirque du Soleil website. It’s appropriate for all ages, and kids are welcome!
Be sure to also check the website for directions and parking information to ensure your experience is enjoyable from start to finish! Note, parking at Dodger Stadium is $25 per vehicle. There is a limited amount of street parking outside of the stadium, if you’d like to park and walk, or carpool in.
